It is really overwhelming how DSL can work its magic in terms of gaining followers all over the world. And it's not just an understatement, I can prove it to you right now. According to a study conducted by a research firm,
Point Topic, the number of DSL subscribers around the world has reached to over 150 million as of March 31, 2006. That means that from the previous year, the number of DSL subscribers has grown to as high as 43 million or 39 percent.
The reports in addition said that China has the biggest share at 30 million subscribers. While the United States follows at the second spot with over 22 million subscribers. The countries of Japan, Germany and France follow, each having more than 10 million subscribers.
What do these figures tell us? The rising demand of consumers for fast and
reliable Internet connection, coupled with the onslaught of digital entertainment, has all made significant contributions to why most consumers rely on DSL or digital subscriber line as a form of Broadband service. DSL has become and continues to be the choice of most households and businesses which need information and data services delivered through the Web.
