Broadband internet service has changed the lives of many people who rely on the internet as a source of information and means of communication. It has prompted a resurgence of innovation and technological development for many companies that provide this kind of service to keep abreast with the latest systems and tools for the consumers. However, it seems that more than the efforts taken to dispel the unlikely effects of competition with other countries adopting the broadband internet, the US is still not climbing the top rank.
In terms of broadband adoption, the United States seems to be left behind by other developed countries. Currently, the country ranks 12th overall and this is likely to pose some serious concerns from IT groups. As a matter of fact, broadband service in countries like South Korea, Japan, and France have better and faster rates than in the US and even
more budget-friendly.
Many believe that without government support in terms of legislations, our broadband problem will continue to haunt us. Policymakers should then pass laws in providing incentives to broadband providers like tax exemptions in order that new companies can also provide this service to proliferate
broadband subscription in every household.
