You can never have the best of everything, including your DSL provider. But if you wisely choose a DSL provider, taking into account factors like price and performance, then you are on your way to being lucky. Never compromise price with performance, the two should go hand in hand. A poor performing DSL provider may be cheap but it is not even satisfactory. A faster DSL service means faster internet connection, and a faster internet connection means better communication between individuals and businesses.
When I switched to Verizon DSL that was the time I realized that cheap does not rhyme with good performance. With Verizon I need not worry about downloading freeware, MP3 files, sharewares that takes forever to download.
Verizon provides its users with a variety of tools like antivirus, personal firewall, parental-control tools and anti-span tools. The speed is not problematic but it is rather reliable. I rate it as fairly high compared to the provider I once had. The installation was never a problem; it was very easy and cost less than cable modem. And the tech support was very helpful.
