Touch -- the only sense that every person never outgrows. Whether you agree or not, I know that we never outgrow the need to be hugged. I, for one, have never outgrown this peculiar want. I always want to be hugged and I always want to hug anyone, provided that I know the person. I want to feel the concern of other people and I want others to feel mine, too.
Since I was a child, I never saw my father. I never saw him, neither in person nor in gray pictures. My mom just told me that he left us. Sad to say, I grew up without a father. Thus, I grew without the feeling of being hugged by a real father. I had lots of fathers when I grew up because my mom had many boyfriends, but I still wanted my real father. Since then, I never received a hug from my mom nor from anyone. So, I grew up with this kind of need. Call that immaturity if you want.
However, the sense of touch has an alternative because of technology. It's DSL broadband Internet. Through the broadband technology, we can touch any person who is far from us. We can give a person a teddy bear hug via web cams. You can also touch any person's heart through email or your blog site with your reliable Mac iLife 06. Anything is possible with broadband technology.

DSL Broadband Internet is the fastest way to travel across the globe. You can visit many regions such as Asia, Europe, Russia, or you can visit teh Pope in the holy Vatican land as fast as clicking your computer mouse. It's funny to think that the world is just a click away. You can always escape from the chaos of your boring life and fly to somewhere else through DSL. It provides an uninterrupted Internet service that is your wagon to the global highway.

If you want to engage yourself in the Mideast war but don't have the guts to leave home, connect through DSL. It is the safest and most secured means of transporting your peaceful body to the chaotic place. Through DSL, you can witness the latest events on the Israeli-Lebanese conflict, all the murders and nonstop bombings. Why do you think Israel needs to stop bombing Lebanon now? Well, not because they kill children and women but because they cause traffic (on the Internet).

Do you know what bombshells are? These are porn sites that create Internet traffic because of obscene images and videos. However, Internet traffic is good because it increases the rating of the sight. What is not good is the traffic cause by a nonsense pride. It is because of these countries' pride that the world is in danger right now. It is because of these countries that innocent people die helplessly. It is because of these countries that civilians suffer from cruelty. I hope you realize it, for once!

We have very limited choices when it comes to broadband internet connection namely cable, DSL and satellite. But needless to say these choices are the most recognized and reliable options for consumers who you fast and sound broadband connection. Among the three, the most portable is satellite internet. Portable, meaning you can take it anywhere. It is so portable that you can take it along with you when you're traveling. This connection is particularly useful in households and businesses located in far areas away from the cities.
Although, satellite is faster than dial up, a lot faster I mean, when it comes to speed DSL and cable still leads the pack. But since its very advantage is its portability, satellite internet is great for people who are always on the go. How does the service work? Well, satellites that are orbiting up in the atmosphere, internet data can be transmitted from the satellites to the network's receivers to decode the information. These decoded data is what appears on the user's computer. The service does not rely on cables or wires but it is required that you have a satellite dish to receive the transmission from the satellite as well as a modem.

They say that once you go broadband you'll never go back to your old dial-up internet service which is exactly true. Broadband internet as opposed to narrowband or dial-up describes a two-way digital service that can move data at speeds of up to 30mbps while the traditional dial-up modem which currently handles 28.8 or 56kbps is considered a narrowband device.
Aside from the abovementioned, narrowband and broadband may be different in speed but almost the same with features. The problem is with broadband you can video download and MP3s which take time with a narrowband. In terms of security issues, a narrowband there is no guaranteed protection from hackers while in a broadband, you must check whether you have an installed firewall.
The broadband is always on line while a narrowband is not which lessens the chance of getting attacked over the internet. When it comes to price, there is a much obvious difference between the two. The narrowband or dial-up internet has lesser costs than the broadband. The former charges $20-30 a month while the latter charges $50-60 a month. If asked which is better of the two, then I would have to side with broadband. It may well have its disadvantages, but its good side outweighs them.

There is the much-heard catchphrase "DSL Hell" which depicted the drawbacks and flaws to DSL service. But let's admit it in most cases DSL is a good thing despite its negativities. Remember when NorthPoint communications shut down its internet service because of bankruptcy? Customers of the company in the Bay area were caught off guard because there was apparently no warning given to their customers who relied on NorthPoint's service. Besides economic or financial reasons of course DSL service sure has its limitations.
One can get poor DSL service if their provider is experiencing network problems triggered by technicalities or competition with other DSL providers. Sometimes when a customer lives far away from the DSL source he receives less bandwidth which means lesser internet speed.
Given the said information, internet users can experience slower data transmission. One more flaw is the cost. There are good service providers which offer fast internet at very high subscription rates, so some people compromise quality with the price and settles for a cheaper DSL provider. Plus if there is a contract between a provider and a customer, it somewhat binds the customer to stay with the provider, even if the service is not satisfactory, until such time that the period has been covered.

You have to admit. Not everyone is fortunate to understand all the technical words that the internet uses. You are lucky if you are one of the people who can understand jargon. However, what will happen if you can't? Surely, there will be lots of confusion on your part. You will have no idea which line enters which port. Your DSL service might be good for nothing since you do not know how to set things up. Therefore, it is suggested that you get yourself a copy of books about DSL.
One such book is called the "DSL Survival Guide." The aforementioned book lives up to its name. It actually gives its readers a step-by-step guide as to how to deal with your DSL network. Not only that, "DSL Survival Guide" helps configure laptops, notebooks, and personal computers. Furthermore, the said book gives its explanations and instructions without using jargon.
Readers will definitely agree that the book is consumer-friendly. It is factual and yet it is not hard to understand. Each chapter dedicates a lot of information on certain topics like troubleshooting, possible problems, andbasic concepts about networks using DSL. Thus, managing one's laptop or desktop will definitely be a cinch with the use of "DSL Survival Guide" at your fingertips.

Have you ever experienced missing important phone calls because you were connected to the internet? After graduating from college, I got busy looking and applying for a job. Of course, I looked into the newspapers and other billboards in our campus. But, the best source of jobs is still the internet. So I searched and browsed almost all the internet sites to look for my first job. The problem was that I didn't have a DSL connection then. Aside from it being really, really slow, I wasn't able to receive the callbacks from the companies I applied for. I only knew that I was scheduled for an interview through my cellphone or email. Not that it was a big of a deal, but it made me realize that I needed a new way to connect to the world wide web.
So I applied for a digital subscriber line. When it got installed, I was able to receive the phone calls that were very important. Plus, I got the chance to quickly look and browse for the jobs I was looking for. I can now be notified immediately for a new job. I had the DSL edge.

Another great thing that DSL or digital subscriber line provides for its subscribers, aside form the quick and easy access to the internet, is the speedy way it can download shareware or freeware in the internet. Making assignments that need software for quite a time is the key benefit of shareware. I remember needing to use an Adobe software for a college project. I downloaded it and used it for fifteen days. I saved money from my allowance because I didn't need to purchase the software I will be just using for a couple of days.
Offices benefit a lot from DSL too. This is also true because offices can also download shareware or freeware that they will need for a certain project without purchasing the software. They simply have to download and install it, put it in the computer network and everybody in the office can use it. It keeps the company's budget on track and helps them finish their work.
DSL not only makes life easier and faster, but it also saves you money. It's quite a practical investment to subscribe to DSL.

There has been a time where people connect to the internet using dial-up servers. This was when you use cards and passwords to sign up and use the internet. This was also the time when you almost got fired at work for missing the deadline or the time when you told your teacher that the dog ate your homework. Gone are those days, and few people miss them.
The advent of digital subscriber line or DSL have led to more productive offices, smarter homes, more intelligent students and the proliferation of MP3s and pornographic materials (although porn has been around since we learned how to draw). Speed is the pride of DSL. They provide internet-users with quick researches by giving fast web page pop up. DSL has also allowed several tutorials through the computer among people on different and distant locations. Our "Star-Trek" fantasies of being able to talk through video have now been possible. Businesses and families connect more and produce more. The economy and industry of most of the developed and developing countries are largely reliant on DSL providers as most of the tax-paying establishments and investments need fast internet connection to get their work done.
There are tons of advantages and life improvements that have been provided by DSL. Can you imagine life without it?

More internet subscribers today are turning to broadband DSL. This internet connection is clearly superior compared to the dial-up modem. In fact, any internet user who has tried the two can observe the notable and huge difference between a dial-up internet connection and broadband DSL.
Generally, broadband DSL provides a quality and fast internet access. You must take note, however, that the speed of your connection depends on the type of package that you applied for at a certain company. But the average speed considered ranges between 128 kbps-1.54 mbps.
Due to the high-speed web access it provides, broadband DSL has greatly change and developed the entire internet experience. Today, browsing; downloading movies, music, and games; banking; shopping and other activities are accomplished conveniently. Besides, unlike the dial-up modem, which limits the time of internet use, broadband DSL offers a 24/7 connection to the entire web.
Still there are other benefits of broadband DSL aside from what was previously mentioned. Because of the fast internet connection, broadband DSL also enables you to save both your time and you money. Besides, this service takes away the need for additional telephone wires since you can already talk on the phone while browsing the internet. Moreover, the internet connection can also be shared among the PC's inside a home provided there is a wireless router.

The motto the “customer is always right” is the basis for quality service and products of all existing business establishments. The customers are the best judges of dependability. Those businesses that refuse to recognize customers’ opinions are doomed to commercial extinction.
DSL service providers should also be alert and responsive to their subscribers’ demands. Some DSL service providers will woe you with promises but may abandon you when you needed tech support. Some have telephone service hotlines that are virtually useless. Oftentimes, it is more reliable to get tech information from fellow subscribers. Ameritech is one example of a company with poor telephone support but good speed and reliable connection.

The internet provides the best opportunity to download your favorite music or latest movie releases for free. Of course, there's no match to the excitement of being able to collect these and create your personal music or video library.
Downloading these files, however, can be slow especially if your are using a slower internet service. Well, if you think that you will be downloading more files in the future, you might want to consider getting a better service.
Why not consider Broadband DSL? Broadband DSL provides a fast and superior internet access. You can shop online for a good company with a reasonable package and price.

Initially, dial-up modems were used in order to access the web. This technology makes use of the telephone wires in order to do this. Dial-up connection, however, has certain disadvantages. The download time is slow. Moreover, it restricts you from using the phone while browsing the internet.
While dial-up modem is still used by many, there are also other options in order to achieve faster internet access. Among the latest developments today is Broadband DSL. This new technology utilizes cable and provides high-speed and superior internet service. Broadband DSL has changed the entire web experience.

Covad DSL service provider does not support MacIntosh computers which would be truly difficult even if you try to re-configure your computer. It may take a lot of time looking for the suitable software you need and even if you do get the software you need, it would still be difficult for some MacIntosh users to install the program considering that some MacIntosh computers do not have floppy disk drives.
What do you do, then? The best option though is to get a non-MacIntosh computer. Covad service is good as well as their subscription money-back guarantee.

One of the means to avail of high-speed web high-speed web access is Digital Subscriber Line (DSL). A DSL service provides a fast solution in terms of internet connection. The downside of this option, however, is that it is not yet available in some places. Hence, should you want to subscribe for fast internet connection, you need to check whether DSL is available or not within your area.
DSL has other various types namely: VDSL(for short distance), SDSL (high speed access), and RDSL (speed of your connection depends on the type of line you are using).

Like any other consumer products and services, no matter what the advertisements and propaganda of internet service providers regarding their DSL service, it is still the consumers or clients who can best judge the quality and efficiency of the DSL service. However, for some they are not given the freedom to choose which service is better given the fact that DSL service are not available everywhere. Some clients or subscribers sometimes have to be contented with inefficient and unreliable services provided by their local internet service provider just because they do not have any alternative options

Technology offers convenience and efficiency but along with the almost exponential developments in technology are frustrations and alienation of some people. Some people are unable to cope with the growing complexity of technology. Ironically, freedom of choice is constricted by many options to choose from. The reason behind this is that options themselves are sometimes hard to understand. Some DSL reports by users, for example can be interpreted as indication of technology frustrations of some users. The most common complaint about DSL is its relative inefficiency in uploading data.
